My Approach
Every person is unique and responds differently to different treatment modalities. Alexine looks not only at the immediate concern but at the larger picture to identify contributing factors and different options for approach.

By using integrative therapy a 'custom fit' style is created allowing for a deeper sense of security in the therapy session, stronger feelings of mastery, and better treatment outcomes.

Modalities such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, Art, and psychodynamic therapy are often used.

Areas of Specialization
Addictions
Addictions stem from a variety of reasons such as self-medication, trauma, and the environment. Looking at the reasons for the addiction and not the addiction itself can help provide better treatment planning.
Anxiety and Mood Disorders
Anxiety and mood disorders are pervasive, impacting all aspects of life. Understanding how the body works, how it responds to the environment, and how we can help regulate it can have a significant effect on improving symptoms and increasing quality of life.
Emotional Regulation
The ability to identify and control our emotions is not always easy. Exploring the intersection between the environment, past experiences, and current situations can help gain mastery and increase our choices and responses.
Trauma
Trauma impacts all aspects of our lives whether it is making daily tasks nearly impossible, conflict or avoidance in relationships, chronic physical ailments, concentration and learning challenges, to the more known flashbacks, nightmares, and hypervigilance.
There are many ways to work with and process trauma. Going at your own pace in a supportive environment allows for safe and controlled treatment. You can get your life back.
